OBSTETRICS AND GYNAECOLOGY

The department of Obst&Gyn was started in 2002. Dr. Ashalata Mallapur is Head of the Department since its inception, adequately staffed with well equipped labour room,obstetric ICU, operation theaters including endo surgery OT.

The Department of OBG has a compact but elaborate museum with plenty of charts, specimens & models. We also have zoe models on which students can learn the practical skills related to the subject

1) Training our medical students with highest level of professionalism in patient care, 2)  Familiarizing them with the specialty, giving them competent education in OB-GYN. 3) Encourage research at every level. 4) Creating and maintaining a curriculum that will expose our students to all aspects of OB-GYN.

INFRASTRUCTURE OF THE DEPARTMENT
We have excellent infrastructure with advanced equipments like laparoscopy, colposcopy,TVS with Doppler, 16slice CT Scan & MRI. Endotrainer is made available for training the students in laparoscopy. OBG Department has a high-tech digital library where in various  procedures by stalwarts in the field can be demonstrated to students.
      Our departmental library is well furnished with more than 100 reference books and text books, The Department is provided with internet facilities for staff and students to download and upgrade their knowledge every now and them

2. A Study of out come of pregnancy among the normal and  high risk women admitted in    HSK Hospital Research Centre Bagalkot – 2007.

3. Prospective study of assessment of blood loss and hemoglobin changes during emergency LSCS at HSK Hospital Research Centre Bagalkot. – 2008.

4. Review of Congenital anomalies in fetuses born in HSK Hospital and Research Centre in Bagalkot 2006 – 2009.

2. Study for evaluating role of RBS in the screening for gestational diabetes mellitus (Correlation between Random Blood sugar and oral glucose challenge test (OGCT) in pregnancy.
