COMMUNITY MEDICINE

The Department of Community Medicine is one of the Para-clinical Departments of S. Nijalingappa Medical College (SNMC), a private medical college recognized by the Medical Council of India, New Delhi and is affiliated to the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore, Karnataka State, India.

The Department of Community Medicine is involved actively in imparting training for the following category of students:
1) Post Graduate degree in Community Medicine
2) Post Graduate diploma in Public Health
3) Internees
4) First, Second and Third Year M.B.BS students.
The Department is actively involved in innovative strategies to make students understand the various components of Community medicine and its importance.
While seminars, symposia, journal clubs, lectures and group discussions are a regular feature of the department, the department involves actively in innovative strategies such as projects for all undergraduate students and interns encouraging them to become Researchers in the future. The Department also conducts periodic seminars with renowned guest speakers for the benefit of students in current topics. The department has a list of outreach activities to reach the community needs.
The Department is fashioning and gearing itself, knowing that the future of healthy India lies in the making of quality community Physicians.
