S. Nijalingappa Medical College and HSK Hospital and Research Centre Department of OBG is placed in Ground Floor of Inpatient Block Total floor area is 7988.63 Sq ft

         OBG Department in S. Nijalingappa Medical College and HSK Hospital and Research Centre, Navanagar, Bagalkot is adequately staffed, with well equipped labour room, operation theatres obstetrics ICU etc. It has total bed Strength of 60 Beds, Department has 2 Units “A” & “B” – with 30 beds for each unit , Two wards are placed at ground floor.

        Obstetrics ICU, Eclampsia ward, Recovery Room, Septic labour room, clean labour room the Major & Minor OT, Septic OT all are placed on ground floor. Endo surgery OT is situated on Ist floor of Inpatient Department.  

 

DEPARTMENTAL MUSEUM

    The department of OBG has a compact but elaborate museum with plenty of charts, specimens & models. The display material covers all aspects of Obstetrics & Gynaecology including anatomy, physiology, pathology, & treatment modalities . We also have models on which students can learn the practical skills related to the subject . I all a definite place of learning & intrest in our department.

OUT PATIENT DEPARTMENT

Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology has out patient department OPD in Room No – 03 in OPD Block.

OPD has all facilities & space as per medical council of India norms Obst & Gyn OPD has separate Rooms for Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor & Residents.  There are four Examination Rooms with one procedure room . Colposcope – also is available in OPD Section.

2. Antenatal Clinic
3. Postnatal Clinic
4. Infertility Clinic
5. Cancer detection clinic
6. Family well fare clinic

(a) Antenatal Clinic
It is held at obst & Gyn OPD block twice every Monday / Tuesday.
Detection of high risk cases, Advise will  be given on proper nutrition, hygiene  & treatment.

(b) Postnatal Clinic
  1. Postnatal exercises
  2. Assist on breast feeding and its importance.
  3. Family planning counseling and its importance in future.    

(c) Infertility
Infertility clinic is held on every Thursday at OBG OPD .
In this clinic infertility female & their male partners are examined, evaluated   with relative investigation.
Depending on findings  female & their male partners, are treated including  medical line & surgical corrections if needed. Those patients requiring assisted reproductive techniques (ART) will be referred to ART Centers.  

(d) Cancer Detection Clinic
 This specialty clinic is  every Friday
  1. Searching for cervical cancer in the form of pap smear.
  2. Confirmation of  susperius   cases by cervical biopsy
  3. All Patients of postmenopausal  bleeding will be submitted for frictional  cure hope  to rule out Ca endometrium /Ca Cx   

(e) Family well fare clinic
Every Saturday
We council Women in reproductive age group regarding general health, Hygiene, Promote breast feeding & contraceptive methods
Cancer detection camp is held on Last Sunday of every month.

(f) Separate ICTC

Department of OBG has compact & elaborate library and plenty of Books of deferent authors, vavriven   Indian & foreign journals along with on hire journal & internet connection.
